Course Length:

9.5 weeks (2 sessions of 2.5 hours per week, 16 sessions total)

With each of our courses, you will be working with actual real world examples, allowing you to learn the real skills necessary for the graphic design field. There will be homework assignments after every lesson, reviewing the concepts taught in that lesson. As well, the course wll culminates with 6 final portfolio pieces, which will showcase and tie together all the skills learnt.

AID: Adobe InDesign
InDesign is covered comprehensively, including basic layout, text and graphics manipulation, guides, color creation and application, style sheets, master pages, multiple pages, justification, hyphenations, and more. Students will create a 2 sided mailer, a 2 sided brochure, a 4 page newsletter, a product catalog and a restaurant menu and more.

AI: Adobe Illustrator
A completely hands-on approach to creating illustrations and beautiful type with Adobe Illustrator. Students create many illustrations while strategies for easy execution are discussed and practiced. The course covers drawing, typography, shape combination, special effects, layers, patterns, blends, custom color, logo creation and much more. Students will create a corporate identity kit, wedding invitation package, product packaging and more.

AP: Adobe Photoshop
A comprehensive class, with an emphasis on the application of concepts to real work situations. You will work on many images! Projects include everything from simple color correction to complex photo retouching, providing an overview from scanned image to printed piece. The course covers advanced selections, retouching, layers, patterns, adjustment layers, masks, type effects, paths, and special filters. Students will create a CD case cover, product information sheet, advertisement, room renovation, book cover and more.
