With each of our courses, you will be working with actual real world examples, allowing you to learn the real skills necessary for the graphic design field. There will be homework assignments after every lesson, reviewing the concepts taught in that lesson. As well, each course culminates with a final project(s), which will showcase and tie together all the skills learnt.
PDP: Digital Photography
Introduces beginner photographers into the fabulous world of digital imaging. We focus on practical ‘hands on’ shooting with a strong emphasis on camera handling, not sitting in a classroom learning theory. There’s intuitive instruction on photo composition along with everything from viewpoint, angles, lens perspective, aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, ISO setting, white balance and exposure compensation.
PL: Lighting
This course is a perfect mixture of basic and intermediate studio & lighting techniques. It is designed to teach students to accurately manipulate lighting in order to get exact results as well as to make creative studio imagery from portraiture to product.
PP: Portraiture
You will explore the different types of portraiture. From candid to formal, how to shoot babies, children, families, groups, friends. In the learning process, you will develop your style: whether this is creative and experimental, stylised or formal in the outdoors or in the controlled environment of a studio. You will learn how to implement creative composition, to understand poses, backdrops, lens perspective, colour cast, to make your subject relax, to look for unusual locations, to come up with new ideas, angles, viewpoints.and to shoot for dramatic impact.
